• meet children’s specific needs while maintaining a sense of balance, structure, and inclusivity
• communicate using positive, encouraging, compassionate language
• provide structure, consistency, and cohesive content
• use teaching methods that are consistent with the particular audience participating in the program (e.g., Buncombe County/Johnston Elementary education program for students who attend that school, include faith-based curriculum of a specific or interfaith nature if the audience for groups are open to that content)
